Market Days is one of Thrillist’s Can’t Miss Queer Events, ranked in the top 10 Chicago festivals by BizBash, and a Best of GayCities Winner for Travel Worthy Festival. The Market Days street festival occurs in the Boystown gayborhood just north of downtown Chicago on Saturday and Sunday. During the day there are gay clothing, toy and accessory vendors that line the street along with various food options and entertainment stages offering drag shows and DJ performances.

Although times have changed, and the Market Days are far more significant events than they used to be, they remain a fantastic opportunity for Chicago’s businesses and artists, particularly those from the LGBTQ+ community, to come together in celebration.

Originating back in Northalsted Market Days has significantly evolved over time. Now stands as one of the largest and most popular street festivals in the Midwest. This lively festival stretches along a half mile section of North Halsted Street between Belmont Avenue and Addison Street. Northalsted Market Days is scheduled for August , The 42nd annual festival kicks off with over vendors, five stages and all-day line-ups of live music and DJs.

The raucous crowds pack Hasted Street from Belmont to Addison for the headliners who are LGBTQIA stars from music, movies and social media.
